Dan has been doing a ton of work making the island useable. All the trails are in, and now campsites are being developed. Next is beaches. Here are photos from this weekend.

Alaskan Saw Mill

Now that we got the trees down, we need to mill the logs. Dan spent some time and found a portable saw mill. Too large for the landing craft so we built a barge. 20' x24'. Sawmill on the island and milling in progress. Eventually we'll get a 3" thick, 20' long plank for our dining room table. Here's some of what they've done so far.

Trees, logs and then what?

Around the island there are several trees that need to come down. Some are dead, some leaning and will eventually fall, a couple are right where we will build our cabin. With the excavator we can get the roots out too.
